Industry recognises that in order to have successful projects they must utilise best-in-class processes and procedures as the solution is a combination of success factors. As often stated, ‘there is no silver bullet to success’, however, having an approach that encapsulates the best of the best is perhaps the right mix to eliminate uncertainty, de-risk and provide guard rails to the execution of projects.

Owners entrust companies to utilise their capital investment wisely and with assurance. It is obligated through contract that EPC or EPCM companies execute their duties and outcomes in the most favourable position possible to ensure return on investment and value to the customer.

AWP, LEAN and IPD are examples of methods and processes that contribute to the alignment of Engineering, SCM, Pre-fabrication, Construction and Commissioning to reduce inefficiencies in project execution.

This combination is a huge step to better projects but it’s not enough. The best in-class processes and system tools need the glue to truly reduce and eliminate inefficiencies wherever they occur. It is imperative that all data requirements, information and knowledge are understood and translated into a logically sequenced execution process with complete visibility and transparency to create a truly best-in-class project.

The PACE approach is the glue. The PACE Digital Platform and organisational structure provides the bedrock and foundation for an end-to-end delivery model that evaluates and manages all functions, delivery considerations and consolidates this into a common data stream from source to final turnover of the asset.

PACE provides a systematic and purposeful insight into developing projects in the most economical manner and real-time assessment, decision-making and accountability leaving nothing to chance. PACE will provide a high probability of success factor from the FEED stage through execution to the final deliverable asset/project.

The resulting digital twin (asset and execution model) has residual value for future projects or upgrades to the new facility. This model can also be utilised for all industry sectors and types of work i.e Greenfield, Brownfield, revamps, shut-downs, decommissioning, removal and reclamation projects.
